Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the diffusion of smoke and the spread of a fire at the time of a fire even if fire shutters and glass partitions around atriums are abolished in a building having the atriums.

CONSTITUTION: Suspended walls 4 and handrail plates 3 are installed at longitudinally staggered positions on the ceiling portion and floor portion faced to the atrium of each floor, smoke is exhausted to the outside from a room A on fire when a fire breaks out, and the outside air is fed by pressure into the atrium 2 through rooms not on fire. The air is fed into the room A on fire from the atrium 2 through spaces between the suspended walls 4 and handrail plates 3, and the smoke is prevented from flowing into the atrium from the room A on fire by the air stream.
