Title:
MANUFACTURE OF ELECTRODE FOR VACUUM INTERRUPTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06103857
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the mechanical strength and electric conductivity by adding Cu powder having small particle sizes to Cu-Cr alloy powder obtained by the atomize method, putting fully the resultant into a die provided with a spiral groove, and subjecting the obtained molding to the sintering process.

CONSTITUTION: Cu powder 80% whereof belongs to a particle size range below 100μm, is added to Cu-Cr alloy powder obtained by the atomize method. This hybrid powder is put fully into a die which can generate a spiral form, and pressure is applied so that the density of molding exceeds 70% of the theoretical density. The resultant molding is exposed to an inert atmosphere in a vacuum furnace to produce an electrode for a vacuum interrupter. The Cu powder content may suffice if it is over 10wt.%. Thereby the molding workmanship is enhanced, and an electrode using atomize powder excellent in the breaking performance, etc., can be fabricated easily.
