Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate errors in bearing measurement due to magnetization of a vehicle and to detect accurate bearings by obtaining the position of a bearing circle based on detected bearing vector, and correcting said bearing vector based on the deviation of the position. CONSTITUTION:A bearing-vector detecting means M2 detects the bearing vector of a vehicle based on earth magnetism. A turning detecting means M3 detects the turning of the vehicle. When the turning detecting means M3 detects the turning of a specified angle or more, a bearing-circle-position computing means M4 obtains the position of a bearing circle based on three or more bearing vectors which are detected with the bearing-vector detecting means M2. A true bearing computing means M5 corrects the bearing vector which is detected with the bearing-vector detecting means M2 in response to the position of said bearing circle, and the true bearing is obtained. Meanwhile, in place of said constitution, the state of the bearing vector itself or the state of the bearing circle is judged with a judging means M14. When it is judged that the state is normal, the true bearing can be obtained with a true bearing computing means M15 based on the normal data.
