PURPOSE: To reduce the weight of a booster shell and to simplify the shell by reinforcing the front wall of the shell with a reinforcing plate secured to a tie rod and escaping externally the leakage oil of the rear end of a master cylinder via a recess groove for positioning the plate.
CONSTITUTION: A tie rod 11 is passed through a pair of bosses 20 formed at both ends of a reinforcing plate 18, and a flange 22 on the rod 11 is engaged with the recess hole 21 of the boss 20. A reinforcing plate 18 is superposed on the inside surface of the end wall of the front shell 1A, and the bolt 11a of the front end of the rod 11 is screwed by a nut 30 through the front shell 1A and the mounting flange 38 of a master cylinder M. Accordingly, the end wall of the front shell 1A is interposed and reinforced with the flange 28 and the plate 18. Further, a projected strip 47 and a recess groove 48 are formed on the front wall of the shell 1A, the strip 47 is engaged with the groove 49 of the reinforcing plate 18, one end of the groove 48 communicates with the leakage oil escaping hole 50 opened on the rear outer surface of the cylinder M, and is opened at the other end with the atmosphere.
