Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a double-sided blanket to be made lightweight and a textile printing pattern to be made vivid by applying specific values to the knitting density of a fabric foundation, a product weight per area and pile length, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A double fabric knitted with a double Raschel loom is cut at the intermediate section of pile thread connecting the surface and reverse fabrics, thereby preparing two fabric sheets. The surface of the one-sided pile fabric so obtained is processed for piling and the reverse side is raised. The fabric is further subjected to a finishing process. Thereafter, the knitting density of a fabric foundation (wale number per inch space x course number per inch space) is taken between 220 and 600 (number per inch)<2>, the product weight per area between 1200 and 1700 g/2.8m<2>, and pile length between 2.5 and 10mm, respectively in preparing a double-sided blanket via hem sawing. In this case, the quantity of falling piles increases, when the knitting density of the fabric foundation is less than 220 (number/inch)<2>. Also, when the density exceeds 600 (number/inch)<2>, the number of courses per inch space must be increased to over 30, thereby making a knitting process impossible. Also, when the product weight per area and pile length deviate from the above-mentioned values, the feeling of a blanket and the vividness of a pattern deteriorate.
