PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency and safety of the work of removing scum, by a method wherein a suction nozzle is brought near the scum by being moved and lowered automatically, and sewage, in which the scum is mingled, is stored in a scum- separating tank, following which the scum is sucked from the inside of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: A suction nozzle 6 is brought near scum by automatically being moved in all directions on the surface of the water and being lifted or lowered. After the scum on the surface of the water and the air are simultaneously sucked by high suction, the scum is led into a scum-separating tank 5 and is stored, and the air is exhausted. After that, sewage stored in the tank 5, in which the scum is mingled, is naturally separated into the water and the scum, following which the water is drained and the scum is sucked and is discharged. At this time, traveling apparatus 2 each are provided on both sides of a pond. In each of the traveling apparatus 2, a traversing apparatus 3 is provided on a traveling truck and a nozzle-lifting apparatus for lifting or lowering a vertical pipe 7 with a suction nozzle 6 is provided under the traveling truck. The scum in the tank 5 for separating and draining the sewage is sucked by a vacuum suction cleaner 13 through pipe-lines 14, 11, is loaded thereon and is carried out thereby.
