PURPOSE: To produce a plastic lense with superior properties for heat resistance, cold resistance, abrasion resistance and scratch resistance by hardening transparent base material after a die figure is copied on said transparent base material on which reactive coating film made of reactive monomer and/or reactive oligomers is formed.

CONSTITUTION: Reactive monomer (e.g. acryl acid) and/or reactive oligomers (e.g. oligoester acrylate) of 5W50pts.wt. and plasticizer, stabilizer, photo sensitizer, prohibiting agent for polymerization etc. are added to thermoplastic resin (e.g. polystyrene) of 100pts.wt., and then they are painted on the surface of transparent base material (e.g. PVC) and are dried, thereby forming reactive coating layer. Next, this base material is heated above softening temperature and pressed on a die without drawing treatment. Consequently, the figure of the die is copied on the base material. Then the base material is irradiated by the electron beam with 50W1,000KeV energy or ultraviolet rays with 30W160W/cw intensity and is hardened.
