Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operation and driving reliability of an electric vehicle. SOLUTION: A drive system of a series of hybrid electric vehicles drive a vehicle-driven electric motor via a power conversion device such as a converter and an inverter by power being generated by a generator being connected to an engine, drives a vehicle via a reduction gear due to the generated power, and at the same time has a rechargeable battery between the generator and the electric motor. A clutch 200 is provided between an engine 1 and a generator 2, and the electric motor 6 is operated at a variable speed by a power conversion device while the clutch 200 is connected when the power conversion device operates normally. When the power conversion device fails, circuit switchers 201 and 202 are operated and the power conversion device is separated from the generator 2 and the electric motor 6, and at the same time the generator 2 is directly connected to the electric motor 6 or is connected via a phase order switcher, and the engine 1 is started while the clutch 200 is off and then the clutch 200 is gradually connected.
