Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily set a dummy chute on a cooling roll and to greatly reduce the working time in a twin roll type continuous casting equipment.
CONSTITUTION: A dummy chute 10 where a coupling 1 is mounted at the rear end is held by a pair of cooling rolls 51, and the forward end is projected into a molten pool part 53 on the cooling rolls. The strip-shaped cast slab melted on the tip part of the dummy chute is guided by the coupling and the dummy chute and lowered, bent by a guide chute 7, and supplied to a carrying roller 55. The coupling traveling on the carrying roller is connected to a sled 11 where the hook on the tip is waiting, and this sled travels on the carrying roller and to guide the cast slab.
