Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a surface treated steel sheet having excellent resistance to corrosion before or after painting, by depositing >=1 kinds of metals among Co, Ni, Cu, Mo, Sn and P in the amt. of a prescribed range on the surface of a polished sheet or a steel sheet subjected to various surface treatments. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a polished sheet or a surface-treated steel sheet is electrolytically treated in a bath contg. specific amt. of >=1 kinds of metal M selected from the above-described metals and PO4<2-> so that said materials are deposited thereon in the range satisfying the relation 3mg/m<2M+P<3,000mg/ m<2>. If the steel sheet is subjected to a cathode electrolytic treatment or electroless dipping treatment in a bath consisting of PO<2-> and M<2+> in the relation PO<2->/M<2+>>0.2 and M+P are deposited so as to exist in the above-described amt. on each one surface, the surface-treated steel sheet having much higher corrosion resistance is obtd. The surface-treated steel sheet by this invention has much higher resistance to corrosion before and after painting as compared to conventional surface-treated steel sheets and further the surface-treated steel sheet applied with the post treatment is highly effective in having much better corrosion resistance.
