Abstract:

PURPOSE: To minimize the influence of a nonsensitive region generated near boundary between each soft magnetic layer and each middle layer and to provide a high efficiency laminae type magnetic head.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic core 1 is formed by alternately laminating 'Sendust(R)' films as soft magnetic layers 5a and alumina films as middle layers 5b. In this case, when the thickness of the magnetic core corresponding to track width is expressed by Tw(μm) and the number of the laminated soft magnetic layers by λ, the soft magnetic layers are formed so that the value of Tw/λ is regulated to 2-3μm. The high efficiency laminate type magnetic head can be realized by forming the soft magnetic layers with FeMN (M is at least one element among Ta, Hf, Nb, Zr, V and Ti).
