The device has a connection point (10) to which at least one power supply unit (12) can be coupled for the transfer of information to the power supply unit via an information link for evaluation in a unit (16) in the power supply unit. The voltage and/or current output by the power supply unit can be varied via the information link. Independent claims are also included for the following: a power supply unit and an accumulator charger for an electrical device.
