Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily set a new electrode lying down to a connecting device at the time of joining a new electrode to the electrode already installed in an electric furnace. CONSTITUTION:The lower end part 68 of a transmission shaft for rotating an electrode by diving force received from driving mechanism such as a motor is constituted in a separate body from the other part, and they are interconnected through a horizontal rotating shaft 76. The lower end part 68 is made turnable from a standing position to a horizontal or nearly horizontal position.
