Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily and rapidly perform positioning of electrodes at the time of joining a new electrode to the electrode already installed in an electric furnace. CONSTITUTION:A new electrode 12d to be joined to the electrode 12a already installed in an electric furnace 10 is suspended by a transfer device 16 such as a crane and is moved above the electrode 12a in the electric furnace 10, and at the same time the suspended electrode 12d is moved downwards and connected to the electrode 12a, an indication mark is applied to either one of the transfer device 16 and a stationery member 11 arranged in the near place to the electrode installed in the electric furnace 10. On the other hand, a laser projector 15 is provided and the transfer device 16 is moved to perform positioning in such a manner that a laser beam from the projector 15 is aimed at the indication mark, thereby making positioning of each center position of a pair of the electrodes 12a, 12d.
