Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an electrolyte holder having sufficient porosity for absorbing and holding an electrolyte, capable of coping with optional shapes including a fine complex shape, a small thin shape, and a large thick shape, and improving the adhesion between electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Pure water is added as a dispersion medium to silica fine powder 1 having acid resistance and the grain size of about 1mum, they are thoroughly stirred and dispersed, then glass fibers or synthetic fibers 3 of 10wt.% and silica sol 2 as a thickener are added to the silica fine powder, the viscosity is adjusted to facilitate molding, and it is thinly coated and molded directly on the electrode face by the screen printing method. The pure water serving as the dispersion medium is dried to obtain a porous electrolyte holder.
