NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl, or lower alkenyl; R2 is lower alkyl, or lower alkenyl; R3 is lower alkyl; R4 is -OR5, or group shown by the formula II; R5 is lower alkyl; R6 is H, or lower alkyl; R7 is lower alkyl) and its acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: 4-Acetylamino-2-(3-isopropylamino-2-hydroxypropoxy)benzoic acid ethyl ester.
USE: A remedy for arrhythmia and angina pectoris.
PREPARATION: A 4-acylamino-2-hydroxybenzoic acid derivative shown by the formula III is reacted with an epihalohydrin shown by the formula IV (X is halogen) to give a mixture of a compound shown by the formula V and a compound shown by the formula VI, and the mixture is reacted with an amine derivative shown by the formula VII, to give a compound shown by the formula I .
