Abstract:

PURPOSE:To quickly change the kind of matrix and perform mass spectrometry by disposing a means for introducing added liquid into a mixing section disposed on the way of a lead-in path to a mass spectormeter of a sample solution separated by a separative column and a discharge flow path therefor. CONSTITUTION:A switching valve 16 on the bottom part of a matrix container 6 is closed and a matrix is poured therein. After a sample is introduced, the sample separated by a separative column 3 is sucked into an ion source 5 through an introduction tube 4 together with the matrix. The sample and the matrix are transported to a mass spectrometer. In the case of changing the kind of the matrix in order to measure a different sample, the valve 16 is opened and the matrix retained in the container 6 is discharged from the discharge flow path 17. The switching valve 16 is closed and then the other kind of the matrix is poured to measure the sample.
