Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a skin preliminaly treatment/monitor dual purpose electrode which is applied to a patient's kin before receiving a bioelectric potential. CONSTITUTION: This skin preliminaly treatment/monitor dual purpose electrode 12 reduces an artifact caused by movement of a skin to appear on a bioelectric potential by pricking a patient's skin before obtaining the bioelectric potential. By pricking the skin, a propensity of the skin which frequently generates the artifact caused by a skin impedance and its movement is reduced. The electrode has an elastic dome 16 whose inner face projects a pricking tooth 18. When force is applied to the dome, the dome moves from a first position to a second position to prick the patient's skin with the pricking tooth 18. Eliminating the force, the dome 16 returns to the original shape and the pricking tooth 18 is pulled out from the patient's skin 30.
