PURPOSE: To obtain fine particles containing photochromic compound which are prevented from causing agglomeration of the polymer and hence are excellent in dispersion stability by using a specific PVA as a dispersion stabilizer in the perparation of an aqueous dispersion of an organic solvent solution of a polymer containing a photochromic compound by a covalent bond.
CONSTITUTION: A PVA with a degree of sapondification of 70.0-85.0mol% and a degree of polymerizaion of 1,000 of or more is used as a dispersion stabilizer in the preparation of an aqueous dispersion of an organic solvent (e.g. toluene) solution of a polymer containing a photo-chromic compound by a covalent band (e.g. 1-octadecyl-3,3-dimethyl9'-methacryloxyspirooxazine/lauryl methacrylate/methyl methacrylate/ hydroxyethly methacrylate/hindered amine methacrylate reaction product).
