PURPOSE: To provide the coating agent for preventing thermal damage of a metallic belt for supporting the long piece face of an ingot, and also, extending a service life of the belt, in a thin metal ingot manufacturing method by the belt type continuous casting machine.
CONSTITUTION: In order to provide the sticking strength of the coating agent, the content of an inorganic binder and an organic binder to be added is set to combination of one kind or two kinds or more of 2-10weight% inorganic binder and 0.01-3weight% organic binder with respect to coating agent slurry. Also, by controlling solid portion concentration of the slurry, stability of the slurry and coating stability are improved, and the quality of an ingot is improved. By forming the solid portion by only crystalline graphite powder, and limiting its average particle diameter and concentration, stability of the slurry and coating stability are improved, and the quality of the ingot is improved.
