Title:
MULTIPLE DISC FRICTION CLUTCH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5917031
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form an engine to small size and light weight, by building a one- way clutch in a multiple disc friction clutch and suppressing transmission of torque to a side of the engine at deceleration. CONSTITUTION:At deceleration running operation, a one-way clutch 20 is placed in a disengaged condition, and torque in the side of a rear wheel is not transmitted to a clutch center 6. Accordingly, although the torque in the side of the rear wheel is transmitted to the side of a clutch outer 3 through a clutch center 5, two sheets of clutch plates 7 engaged to the clutch center 5 and three sheets of clutch discs 4 frictionally engaged to the clutch plates 7, a slip is generated because of a less number of sheets of the engaged clutch plates 7 and the clutch discs 4 contributing to the transmission of the torque. As a result, brake force of an engine is not so increased more than necessary.
