PURPOSE: To obtain good humidity permeability by using a polymer having a specific value in relation to humidity permeability, equilibrium water absorption and an equilibrium 70% isopropanol aq.soln. absorbing soln. in a non-porous air permeable two-component polymer film comprising two layers of a polymer material.
CONSTITUTION: A two-component polymer film 10 suitably used in an operating gown, a cover fabric for a patient, a wound bandage or a sanitary napkin is formed by bonding first and second layers 12, 14 of a polymer material in opposed relationship. The first layer 12 of the polymer material is formed from hydrophilic block poly(ether/coamide) containing about 20-80 wt.% of polyethylene glycol block and a hydrophobic polymer. The second layer 14 comprises a polymer or a polymer mixture having humidity permeability of at least about 1,000 g×mil/m2/day per film thickness, equilibrium water absorption of about 25% or less and 70% isopropanol aq.soln. absorption of about 50% or less.
