PURPOSE: To obtain an information for the optimum control of copied image quality from a identical position on a photosensitive body and to always obtain stable copied image quality by specifying the boundary shape of a marking area and a non-marking area when the marking area is formed on the photosensitive body.
CONSTITUTION: As for the cross-sectional shape of a boundary part between the non-marking area and the marking area (second surface) 4, an average line is defined as a line whose sum of the squares of a deviation to a sectional curve indicating the surface shape of a longitudinal section is the smallest, and the average line M0 of the non-marking area near a boundary crosses the average line N0 of the marking area 4 at an intersection P. Also tangents at the intersection P against the average lines M0 and N0 are set as M1 and N1 and an acute angle mutually formed by them is set as θ that is 0°≤θ≤30°. Thus the surfaces of the non-marking area and the marking area 4 continue at the boundary having an inclination in the range of 0°≤θ30°, so that the photo- sensitive drum 1 having an even characteristic is obtained.
