PURPOSE: To obtain a uniform color for the skin of human beings during the inter-program and the inter-channel periods by driving in parallel an automatic chrominance signal controlling circuit and a skin color controlling circuit and, at the same time, by stopping the operation of the skin color controlling circuit during the vertical blanking period.
CONSTITUTION: A composite chrominance signal 5 extracted from a composite video signal by a band-pass filter is inputted into a signal processing circuit 1 and each signal of R-Y, G-Y, and B-Y are outputted. The two signals of R-Y and B-Y are added to a VIR automatic chrominance signal controlling circuit 2 and a skin color controlling circuit 3, and color saturation control signals 7 and 9 and hue control signals 8 and 10 are outputted, and then, the color saturation and the hue of the chrominance signal are controlled in the chrominance signal processing circuit 1. The skin color controlling circuit 3 is configurated in such a way that, when the chrominance signal is controlled in the processing circuit 1, the controlling circuit 3 is stopped its operation only for the vertical blanking period by a signal from a switching circuit 4 which is controlled by a blanking signal 6.
