Title:
VIBRATION DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0815001
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a smaller and lighter detector by utilizing a repulsive force between a magnet ball within a non-magnetic detection container and a permanent magnet of the same polarity provided at one end of the container and a distortion force of a non-magnetic elastic body provided at the other end of the detection container.

CONSTITUTION: The surface of a magnet ball 2 in a non-magnetic cylindrical detection container 1 is magnetized in single polarity, a permanent magnet 3 is bonded on a fixed base 4 at one end of the container 1 and the surface thereof facing the magnet ball 2 of the magnet 3 is magnetized in the same polarity as the surface of the magnet ball 2. A non-magnetic elastic body 5 is mounted on an intermediate sleeve 6 at the other end of the container 1. The magnet ball 2 is caused to float reacting to the magnet 3 and moves to the center of a hole of the elastic body 5 to rest at the positions A and A'. When a vibration occurs, the magnet ball 2 oscillates against a force proportional to a vibration acceleration. The oscillation causes a change in a force acting on a magnetic body 7 through the elastic body 5 and the magnetic body 7 is displaced a shown by B to activate a microswitch 9 thereby enabling the detection of vibration in all bearings.
