Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a mold for horizontal continuous casting, in which the mold temp. at the time of casting is made to be low to restrain the wearing and the service life of the mold can be extended, by strengthening the cooling at the part ordinarily having large wearing in the inlet of the mold.

CONSTITUTION: In the mold for horizontal continuous casting equipment closely connecting a tundish 1 and the mold 10 through a feeding nozzle 4 and a brake ring 5, the inner end surface 19 at the upstream side in the casting direction in the surface forming a cooling water passage 15 at the inside of the mold is positioned to the upstream side from the rear end surface 13 of the brake ring.
