PURPOSE: To reduce the number of parts and to simplify the entire device by impressing braking force to the turn of a movable member by utilizing friction generated between a brake shoe and a fitting member by fitting them.
CONSTITUTION: When a user turns a toilet seat 2 in the direction of closing by the hand, a hinge shaft 3 is revolved against a case 1 and, with this revolution of the hinge shaft 3, a fitting member 10 is rotated by engaging a driving gear 6 and a slave gear 9. In this case, since a pin part 13b of a pressing member 13 is engaged to a cam groove 7a of a cam member 7, the pressing member 13 is slid in the axial direction by the engagement of the cam groove 7a with the revolution of the hinge shaft 3 and presses the follower gear 9 in a certain direction so as to fit the fitting member 10 and a brake part 11b of a brake shoe 11. Thus, a tapered face 11c of the brake part 11b is joined with a tapered face 9a of the fitting member 9, friction is generated to be gradually increased with the revolution of the hinge shaft 3 and with this friction, braking force is impressed to the turn of the toilet seat 2.
