PURPOSE: To obtain nitroglycerin useful as a remedy for angine pectoris, etc. as a uniformly dipersed or a uniformly adsorbed material, by adsorbing it on crystalline cellulose having 5W35wt% particles not passing through 200 mesh sieve and 2W4cc/g specific volume.
CONSTITUTION: Nitroglycerin is adsorbed on crystalline cellulose having 5W 35wt% particles not passing through 200 mesh sieve and 2W4cc/g specific volume, to give the desired stable composition. The crystalline cellulose to be used is obtained by hydrolyzing high-purity purified pulp with a mineral acid under constant conditions, washing and removing an amorphous region, grinding, purifying, and drying it, to give fine powder, which is used. When the content of nitroglycerin is too low, the medicinal effect is insufficient when it is applied to pharmaceutical preparation. When it is too high, it is dangerous in terms of handling safety. The amount of nitroglycerin is preferably 2W20pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. crystalline cellulose.
