PURPOSE: To secure safety of an operator in charge of maintenance and inspection by providing a take-in-and-out device moving on a constant route, providing a control device and a door body of the take-in-and-out device at a position opposite to the constant route and providing a light transmission device to deliver and receive a signal between the door body and the take-in-and-out device.

CONSTITUTION: A take-in-and-out device 1 moving on a constant route 4 in front of shelves 2, 3 having a load storage space and having a take-in-and-out tool 5 is provided. In a position opposite to the constant route 4, a control device 26 and a door body 13 free to open and close of the take-in-and-out device 1 are provided. On this door body 13, light transmission devices 27, 28 connected to the control device 26 and to deliver and receive a signal to and from the take-in-and-out device 1 are provided. Control is carried out by delivering the signal from the control device 26 to the take-in-and-out device 1 through the light transmission devices 27, 28. Consequently, it is possible to move the take-in-and-out device 1 and to make a motion combined with the take-in-and-out tool 5. Additionally, at the time of maintenance and inspection of the shelves 2, 3 and the take-in-and-out device 1, the light transmission devices 27, 28 stop without confronting the take-in-and-out device 1, and accordingly, it is possible to secure safety of an operator.
