Abstract:
Two embodiments of air/fuel injectors wherein the fuel is injected to a chamber (55) through a venturi section (68,65) that receives pressurized air (50) so that the fuel is injected to an area of lower pressure than the air pressure. The chamber (55) is communicated with the engine through an injector valve (54) which opens and closes. The isolation of the point of fuel delivery from the injector valve reduces the likelihood of fuel variations due to variations of the lift of the injector valve. In one embodiment, the venturi section is formed co-axially with the chamber and in another embodiment it is formed externally of the chamber.
