PURPOSE: To remove a jammed form through simple operation by rolling a rocking lever which engages one terminal of a member for supporting a pressure roll on the slanting surface of a rail, and separating the pressure roll from a fixing roll.

CONSTITUTION: A paper feeder 2 equipped with the fixing roll 5 and the pressure roll 6 which is fitted to a support member 8 rotatably by a support shaft 7 is supported on the guide rail 4 in a free entering and exiting state. The rocking lever 10 whcih engages one terminal of the support member 8 with a spring 9 moves on the rail 14 through a roll 13, and the pressure roll 6 contacts the fixing roll 5 under specific pressure at a specific position. When the paper feeder 2 is drawn out in case of a paper jam, the pressure roll 6 leaves the fixing roll 5 as the roll 13 moves down on the slanting part of the rail 14, so the jammed form is removed easily. Further, the paper feeder 2 is stored in the main body by pressing to enter an in-use state easily.
