Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a remotely positionable compact diagnostic MRI device by installing a means for detecting a measuring plane which is characterized by the static magnetic field having an almost constant size and almost constant magnetic field gradient in a direction vertical to the measuring plane, in the inhomogeneous magnetic field. CONSTITUTION: This MRI device including a total surface unit 12 and a control console 16, comprises a static magnet 20 for generating the inhomogeneous magnetic field in an external of the same. The static magnet 20 generates a magnetic field area to be effectively used as a measuring plane 74. The measuring plane 74 is almost flat, and has the almost constant intensity of magnetic field, and the magnetic field gradient vertical to the measuring plane. Further the static magnet 20 has a shape for generating the almost flat measuring plane 74 in the inhomogeneous magnetic field of the external which can be selectively coded by the gradient coils 22, 24 of proper shape.
