Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a gate valve which does not produce impurities in a valve box at the time of the open/close operation of a valve by connecting the space between the piston rod and the valve rod in a piston cylinder device by a roller and a slant long hole for guiding this roller. CONSTITUTION: When a gate valve is closed, a valve rod 8 is lowered integrally through a stretching spring 18 by lowering a piston rod 6 by energizing a piston cylinder device 4. Thereby, a valve disc 3 is lowered and positioned to a position facing to a valve seat 2. Under this state, the valve rod 8 is not lowered, but the piston rod 6 is continued its lowering further while compressing the stretching spring 18 and a roller 16 is moved to left side gradually along a slant long hole 17. The valve rod 8 is moved slantingly by this movement and the valve disc 3 connected to the lower end of the valve rod 8 is push-pressed to the valve seat 2 strongly.
