PURPOSE: To provide a durable transparent flat heater by stacking two or more kinds of metal transparent conductive layers covered with a transparent layer of high refractive index on a main surface of a transparent base material, and by ensuring a transparent region to provide an electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent refractive index thin film layer 20 (C) transparent in a visible light beam region, a first metal thin film layer 30 (A) of Ag or Ag alloy, and a second metal thin film layer 40 (B) of single metal or alloy of metals chosen from a group Ti, Zr, Ta, V, and Al, are formed on a plastic film 10. A protective layer 60 of resist resin is selectively provided on the outermost transparent high refractive index thin film layer 20, to form a metal electrode 50 by electric plating. A protective layer 70 of resin or of transparent film is formed. The electrode can thus be practically formed directly on the film without breaking a transparent conductive film, while electrical connection between the metal electrode and the transparent conductive film is improved, and the performance is thus improved.
