PURPOSE: To enhance the manipulability of a hoisting accessory which is slidable along a balance beam for elevating and conveying a planer or rod-like heavy material in a balanced condition, by providing a stopper adapted to be engaged with and disengaged from the beam by manipulating a handle, on the hoisting accessory.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of conveying a suspended material 18 with the use of a balance beam 1, two hoisting accessories 7 are provided on the long beam 1 which are suspended from a crane 16 through the intermediary of a hook part 2, and special chuckers 15 provided underneath the hoisting accessories 7 are attached to the suspended material 18 at suitable positions on the latter. A pair of handles 11 attached to each of the hoisting accessories 7 are manipulated so as to be raised and horizontally laid, and accordingly, a stopper 6 is withdrawn from a stopper hole in the long beam 1. Then, the hoisting accessories 7 are slid so as to balance the suspended material 18 in accordance with the weight and size of the latter. Graduations are adjusted at a position where the suspended material 18 can be balanced, and then the handles 11 are released. Thus, the stopper 6 is engaged in a stopper hole in the lower part of the graduations 3 so that the hoisting accessories 7 are secured.
