Abstract:
PURPOSE:To safely travel along a rugged downward slope such as in a golf course by having a self-traveling body, a brake motor and a downward slope detection means, and equipping a main controller to intermittently operate a brake, upon detection of the downward slope. CONSTITUTION:A guide cart has a body 1 automatically traveling along a guide lane, a brake motor 36 for operating a brake to hold and lock rear wheels 4, an inclination sensor 67 as a downward slope detection means for detecting the downward slope of the travel road of the body 1. In addition, the cart is equipped with a main controller for intermittently operating a brake, when the inclination sensor 67 identifies the road as a downward slope. The main controller actuates the brake motor 36 and intermittently operates the brake, when the inclination sensor 67 detects a downward slope, thereby preventing the rear wheels 4 from slipping and reducing a brake wear. As a result, a drop in a braking force due to the overheat of a drum brake can be prevented.
