PURPOSE: To prevent missing of a specification or the like selected by a user at the replacement of a battery by forming a storage means for its own number or the like and a storage means for information or the like revised at the time of usage of an electrically rewritable nonvolatile memory.

CONSTITUTION: In the portable information equipment which compares a preset own number with a received information number and receives information in succession to the information number when they are coincident, an electrically rewritable EEPROM is adopted for a storage circuit 31 storing the own number or the like and a specification storage circuit 34 storing information or the like revised at the time of usage. The specification storage circuit 34 shares part of functions of a notice method storage circuit 21 and the remaining information is stored in a CPU 30. A power supply circuit 35 boosts a voltage of a battery up to a high voltage for rewriting the information of the specification storage circuit 34 under the control of the CPU 30. The power supply circuit 35 is used only for rewriting the stored information of the specification storage circuit 34 and its function is usually stopped.
