Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the surface property of the photosensitive material having a silver halide emulsion layer containing silver chloride grains in a high content under high humidity and to give good storage stability to this emulsion layer.

CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive material has at least one silver chloride emulsion layer containing silver chloride in an amount of 100-90mol% of silver halide on a support and the uppermost layer on the emulsion layer side of the support contains the fluorinated cationic surfactant represented by the formula in which R2 is H or 1-5C alkyl; each of R3-R5 is H or 1-5C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; X is Br-, Cl-, CH3SO3-, or the like; and each of n, m, l, and k is an integer of 1-10, 1-6, 0-1, and 0-5, respectively, and when l is 1, k is not 0.
