PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid dispersion of fine particles such as a cosmetic having a specific electric conductivity and exhibiting opalescent color by dispersing fine particles of an organic polymer such as synthetic resin or inorganic fine particles such as silica in water, an organic solvent or their mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid dispersion of fine particles having electric conductivity of ≤560μS/cm and produced by using water or an organic solvent as a dispersion medium. The average particle diameter of the fine particle is preferably ≤700nm and the variation coefficient of the diameter of the fine particle is preferably ≤30%. Cosmetics compounded with the fine particles exhibits opalescent color. The electric conductivity of the cosmetic is preferably ≤560μS/cm. The amount of the fine particles to be compounded is preferably ≤20vol.%. The cosmetic can be used in the form of face lotion and milky lotion. The cosmetic exhibits opalescent color and beautiful unique luster. A cosmetic composition containing small droplets of the dispersion liquid in a jelly substance can be prepared by mixing the dispersion liquid in a transparent or semi-transparent jelly substance.
