Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of hardware by using the output of a line memory for intra-field interpolation to generate an interpolation signal for low band substitution and eliminating a memory for low band substitution to decode a MUSE signal. CONSTITUTION:This device consists of an inter-frame interpolation circuit 2, line memories 7 and 13, a prefilter 8, D/D conversion circuits 9, 16, and 23, an inter-field interpolation circuit 10, a signal extracting circuit 11, an intra-field interpolation circuit 14, a mixing circuit 19, an interpolation filter 21, a low band substitution circuit 24, etc. In this constitution, the output of the line memory 13 for intra-field interpolation is used and is inputted to the interpolation filter 21 for low band substitution. Thus, the line memory for low band substitution is eliminated to reduce the amount of hardware, and plural outputs of the line memory 13 for intra-field interpolation are used to perform two-dimensional interpolation filtering, and the picture quality is improved.
