Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily secure a socket part to a support member by pressing a socket part having a recessed part on the outer periphery thereof in a fitting hole of a support member such as a transverse ring, and then caulking it in such a manner as to crush the recessed part. CONSTITUTION:At the time of securing a support member 3 comprising a transverse ring 6 and a collar 5 to a socket part 1 incorporated into a ball 2 mounted on one end of a ball stud 4, a recessed part 8 is previously formed on the outer periphery of the socket part 1 at an assigned space from a flange part 7. The socekt part 1 is pressed in a fitting hole 3a of the support member 3, so that the upper surface of the flange part 7 is brought into contact with the collar 5 of the support member 3. In such a condition, the flange part 7 is set on a cradle 10, and caulking force is applied thereto from the above by a passing jig 11, so that an extended part 9 is projected outward above the recessed part 8 so as to clamp the support member between the extended part 9 and the flange part 7.
