Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a coupling and to miniaturize the power supply of the main body of an information processor by using an optical coupling to transfer information between a portable information device and an external device and at the same time supplying the electric power needed for the transfer of information from a solar power supply with the optical coupling. CONSTITUTION:Optical signal photodetector 9 and 14 are connected optically to optical signal light emitting devices 10 and 13 respectively with small space. When an illuminating device 12 emits light, a solar battery 8 receives the light and produces the electric power. This power is supplied to the memory part 16 of a CPU15 as well as to the detector, 9, the device 10, etc. The light emitting device 13 is coupled optically to the detector 9 and can transfer and write the telephone number information and the unit price information of an article which is previously written to an external device 19 via the CPU15 for the transfer of data. Furthermore a user can transfer and write the new information written to the part 16 via a keyboard 18 to the device 19. This improves the reliability of the coupling to the device 19 and attains the miniaturization of the power supply of the main body of an information processor.
