Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily retrieve the desired index information on an index sheet so as to speedily obtain the image information corresponding thereto.

CONSTITUTION: A file of each directory fetched from a storage medium is fetched in order, an index picture image (index information) is fetched therefrom, and by a relative order discrimination processing, the relative order of plural index picture images is discriminated based on a prescribed condition (a feature obtained from the index picture image itself and a feature of a document to which its picture image belongs, etc.), and the order of the index picture image formed on paper is controlled based on the relative order of its discriminated index picture image.
