Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify a system by constituting the system of an optical informa tion input medium, plural point light sources for information operation, and a screen on which the read operation result is displayed. CONSTITUTION:Input light having an energy larger than the band gap of an optical semiconductor, for example, N2 laser light is equally divided into two by total reflection mirrors 3 and 4 and is reflected by total reflection mirrors 1 and 2 and is allowed to pass masks A and B of an input pattern and is made incident on both faces of a two-layered optical (de)intercalation cell. When a voltage is applied to a second transparent electrode by a controller at this time so that a first transparent electrode has a positive potential, optical intercalation (coloring) does not occur, and therefore, encoding can be performed simultaneously with storage of the input pattern. This information is subjected to picture operation by flickering of plural point light sources arranged in the front, and the operation result is nondestructively read out onto the screen arranged at the rear.
