PURPOSE: To eliminate the asymmetry on operation and to improve the operability having direction difference by making the control of an object to be driven with respect to an operating signal by means of the absolute operating direction of a manually operating member nonidentical.
CONSTITUTION: A zoom controller of a power zoom lens performs variable power action by moving a movable lens group 2 as the object to be driven which is included in an optical system 1 in an optical axis direction. A CPU 4 controlling entire lens group and included in a microcomputer, an inversion inputting means 19 inputting whether driving correction by normal and reverse rotation with respect to the absolute rotating direction of the member 5 is performed by normal and reverse inversion or not, and an I/O port 20 inputting the output signal from the means 19 to the CPU 4 are provided. When the object 2 to be driven is controlled by first control in accordance with the operating signal generated in the case of operating the manually operating member 5, the CPTU 4 makes the control of the object 2 to be driven with respect to the operating signal by means of the absolute operating direction of the member 5 nonidentical.
