Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the appearance of an excessive chrominance component as much as possible in color picture data obtained by reading the edge and its vicinity of a black picture, etc. SOLUTION: A CPU calculates through correction a special weighted mean containing a negative weight using two power exponents as divisors on each picture element signal obtained at every read picture element area based on the correlative relation by three-point interpolation between a notified picture element signal and its adjacent picture element signals (S5). In addition, the CPU generates color picture data for printing in accordance with the corrected value of each picture element signal by using the values calculated through correction processing as the corrected value of each picture element value obtained at every read picture element area.
