Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce necessary memory capacity by reducing a data quantity of an outline at the time of reading an image, extracting and storing the outline. CONSTITUTION:A binary image acquiring part 1 reads the image in order of scanning a raster and an outline extracting part 2 detects an outline vector from a noticed picture element and its neighborhood picture element. A vector data preparing part 3 calculates the difference of the starting point coordinate of continuous vectors taking the outline vector as input data and stores the value by housing it in the data packet of the number of digits corresponding to the difference value. Concerning the continuous vectors, an X-component and a Y-component alternately become zero so that the difference is calculated with regard to components except zero. An outline smoothing variable power part 4 returns the stored difference value back to a normal coordinate expression to smooth or variable power-process it. A binary image reproducing part 5 converts the outline vector into a raster expression and a binary image output part 6 outputs the data.
