PURPOSE: To provide a camera provided with the format switching operation mechanism of economical and simple constitution capable of selectively exposing a film in a full size and a panoramic size.

CONSTITUTION: In this multi-format freely switchable camera constituted of at least upper and lower shielding blades 17 and 19 freely turnable between a shielding position and a nonshielding position for allowing exposure in the full size at the time of being at the non-shielding position and allowing the exposure in the panoramic size at the time of being at the shielding position, the upper and lower shielding blades 17 and 19 are connected with each other by one connection link 25 provided with an elastic bend part and a pivotal movement hinge 27 for allowing the turning of the upper and lower shielding blades 17 and 19 is constituted by the elastic bend part.
