Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for splicing a continuous old thread with the end area of a new thread by means of compressed air splicing. Said method functions in broad parameter areas independent of the characteristics of the threads which are to be processed. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method. The method for splicing using compressed air splicing is characterized in that before splicing using compressed air, the original twist of the filaments of at least the old thread is eliminated in the splicing area by means of reverse twisting. Such a device comprising front and rear clamping devices (6, 7) with regard to the swirling zone (3) and comprising a twisting device (22) as well as a third clamping device (8) for the new thread is characterized in that the rear clamping device (7) for the old thread (1) can be rotationally driven and is constructed such that it can rotate around the direction of passage (10).
