PURPOSE: To prevent breakage or a serious accident caused by obstruction due to entanglement of a wire rope at the inlet of the introducing pipe of a winch ropeend catching device.
CONSTITUTION: This safety device is arranged into one set to be attached to a ready-made rope end catching device, and it is provided with an introducing pipe 1, a movable cylinder 3, spring receivers 4, 5, a coil spring 6, restraining materials 7, 7a, and a detecting switch 8. When the entangled part of a delivered wire rope is obstructed at the inlet 3a of the movable cylinder and the movable cylinder is retreated, the rear end of the restraining material 7a retreated together with the movable cylinder is projected rearward, and hence the detecting switch 8 is actuated in its transmission.
